Calf's Head Hotel

Set in a beautiful quiet village with Pendle Hill in the background and country walks. 2 miles from Clitheroe The hotel itself is wonderful. Lovely spacious rooms, spotlessly clean. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is good but we found the portions too big. Their is a dining conservatory at the back of the building that overlooks the large lawn surrounded by trees. At the other side of the conservatory is a decking area with table and chairs set over a stream with views of Pendle Hill. All in all an all round gem

Had lunch here today and just turned up, hoping for a table. Staff were very helpful and found us a table for 2 in the conservatory. Although the decor isn't great the atmosphere was nice. Mixed ages of diners and very busy. We were attended to quickly and served drinks before we looked at the menu. They had a specials menu aswell as the usual menu. Plenty of variety, which always gives me such a dilemma. We were served by very friendly, informative staff and they answered our questions with confidence, which i feel is very helpful when trying to decide what to eat. The food was delicious, well presented, hot and well presented. The toilets were dated and in need of a fresh decor but clean. Would recommend a visit to this pub for lunch, evening meal or the all day breakfast

Really nice location greeting was warm by the staff the restaurant was nice and clean with a good mix of staff both young and older. The carvery was very nice but what impressed me I asked for more custard on the jam roly poly and when it came my dish was overflowing. Only slight constructive criticism was seeing the staff on their break smoking on the emergency exit stairs did look a bit scruffy to be honest maybe think of somewhere out of site of the customers but al in all well done we will be coming back in the future.
