California Garden

Had a great stay, the reviews definitely seem to be from people that have never gone to this sort of hotel. Not once has a waiting member of staff stared anyone down. Load of rubbish, maybe learn you're not the only person at the hotel and others need a table. The only downside for me was not seeing a single holiday cat to befriend. Honestly the place is lovely and caters to literally everyone. Great disabled accessibility that I haven't seen done so well in many other hotels

Positives first. Location , cleanliness room serviced everyday. Had a fridge.Air conditioning amazing. Internet great Lots of wardrobe space Was in room 270 lovely pool view. Brilliant bathroom bath and shower amazing water pressure. Modern basic rooms which made it feel very clean. Towels and bedding good. Staff nice Bar area around the brilliant pool was cheaply priced and did good snacks. Pool tables and large bar/function area to chill out in. Didn't use the gym or spa Negatives Food was fine and for the price we paid for the holiday we had the attitude food was free , I wouldn't have wanted to pay a lot extra for the food as the whole dining experience was awful. Crowded, queuing to get a table for up to 45 mins most evenings..not able to purchase alcohol in restaurant so take it in with you from the bar. Evening meal didn't start while 7.30pm which I feel is too late especially for families with small children. Queues for hot drinks unbearable some mornings with extremely badly placed drinks machines that took an age to work.

I am not the one to discount the hotel because of bad reviews but this one is the one you should avoid. You can only swim in the pool,kids not allowed a small fist size ball to play with,no inflatables or any pool toys. Might as well call yourself adults only with rules like that. Food barely edible. Small choice for pick from and i am not picky,nice piece of fish and nice salad would do. Was told to speak to manager regarding room upgrade as nightclub next door on till 5am isn't great when your trying to sleep. Manager nowhere to be seen since yesterday leaving a girl at reception with very minimal English and no authority. Who is running the hotel? Ac in the room has no remote. Can only be set colder or warmer if you call a room support person who is again nowhere to be seen. Shocking standards at the hotel. No fridge in the room.
