Calimbra Wellness Hotel Superior

Very spacious, well equiped and clean rooms with very good breakfast. Im taking off one star if the services, due to the spa services. Only one of the pools is warm, the others are 27C, which is too cold.

The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast and dinner was very good. The spa was crowded. Lots of loud kids and some adults jumping into the pool as if it was a water park and not a spa.

I would like to share my recent experience at your hotel. While the hotel itself was satisfactory, the service left much to be desired. It may have been an isolated incident, but we encountered numerous issues that fell below the standard we expected from a four-star establishment. Regarding dining, our first night was delightful, with a variety of dishes, including fish. However, the second night was disappointing for a vegetarian. There were no main vegetarian options, only side dishes. When we addressed this with the chef, he acknowledged the issue but took no action. The restaurant floor manager, after consulting with the chef, offered us vegetarian side dishes such as potatoes and rice as a solution. This was unacceptable, as we expected a proper vegetarian meal included in our room price. Eventually, we were served some coated cheese after a third request. To avoid a repeat of this situation, I spoke with the restaurant manager, who assured me that there would be mushroom-filled goat cheese the following evening. Unfortunately, on our final night, we were again served coated cheese. When we raised the issue, the restaurant manager informed us that we should have specifically requested it, despite the meal being presented in a buffet style. This experience was disappointing, especially since we chose a four-star hotel expecting a certain level of quality and service. We hope these issues will be addressed and improved upon in the future.
