Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa

I had the pleasure of photographing Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa — and also got to stay there — and would go back in a heartbeat. It’s an absolute gem. The design is thoughtful and playful in all the right ways, with every space feeling both stylish and welcoming. As a photographer, the light, textures, and layout made the whole shoot a joy. And as a guest, I couldn’t have been more impressed. The suites are spacious and so well done, the pool and spa are exactly what you hope for in a Wine Country escape, and the location is just beautiful. The team was warm, helpful, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend — both to stay and to shoot!

I did not stay at the motor lodge on my trip, but rather had a facial at the spa. This was hands-down the BEST facial I have ever had. I usually hit up a facial 1-2 times a year, but Natalie was a master of her craft. I caught myself falling asleep twice, as I was so relaxed and the cocoa mask had my skin glowing when I was finished. This feels like one of the areas best kept secrets.

Beautiful location. Friendly and helpful staff. Shout out to Jessica at the reception. She was pleasant and quick to respond to requests and questions. Her welcoming service made my stay relaxed and enjoyable. Spacious room and cleaned pools. Easy parking. Beds were comfortable. Minor issue with one of the towel rack being loosed and fell off. One of the coffee mugs chipped. Over all good value and would love to come back to checkout the on site restaurant and spa next time.
