The room is very small and the floor was sticky in places and hasn’t been cleaned properly. Annoyingly, there was no lamp so the only light was the big light in the centre of the room. The Aircon which would be amazing in the summer, woke me up blowing cold air which left me in a lot of pain. I can’t praise the two gentlemen on the desk as they very quickly gave me an iron and ironing board when I asked and an extra duvet. I dare say that had I of mentioned the floor that they would got the issue sorted however as they had been so helpful, I didn’t want to ask for anything else.
The cleaning staff accidentally left the door to our room open. I mean open as in visibly open so that anyone in the hallway could have walked in while we were out and getting their hands on passports etc. An honest mistake, but nonetheless an acceptable one at a hotel. When we brought this up with the receptionist, we were met with poor service and no apology. Otherwise, it’s a charming hotel with a good location. Noisy from the street, which is heavily trafficked, but that’s to be expected in London. The hotel has recently changed owners. I stayed here in June.
A shame- stay here quite a lot for work, this time they only had singled so that’s what I booked. My boyfriend also booked a separate room which was paid for but he came and stayed in mine. We had a knock on the door at 4am to remind us that he ‘had his own room’ bizarre- not quite sure why we were being monitored or why they were bothered which bed we were sleeping in when he had paid for 2 rooms. Fire alarm also went off at 9am and wasn’t switched off for about half an hour which was then followed by a visit to tell us off about the fire alarm which had nothing to do with us and then followed by another visit to tell us that checkout was at 11am and this was at 9.30. All in all an absolute bizarre stay and wouldn’t recommend.
