Camelia Hotel

I booked this hotel for two nights for my wife and me. Checking in was easy and the room was lovely, with a large bathroom. The location was great, about a mile from the pier and about 1.5 miles from the town centre. The staff were friendly too. I would definitely rate our experience as a 10 out of 10 and would definitely come back. If I had to say any negative points then I’d say that the room was a little on the small side, but I’m just nit-picking. I have to say that there is a huge amount of free parking right next to the hotel, which was a huge plus sign for me, as I feared I’d have to park some distance from the hotel and probably end up paying too. A big thank you to all the staff involved, but a special shout out to the chefs. The food was absolutely amazing. As an ex chef, I can notice and taste well prepared, cooked and executed food, and the food here was absolutely faultless. The fish and chips arrived with a huge piece of fish, the lamb fell off the bone and the fillet steak was the best I’ve ever eaten. The breakfasts were a joy too. Plenty to eat, cereal, yogurt, croissants and a well cooked English breakfast. A big thank you to all the staff.

I stayed, with a small group of friends, for the first time in May this year. We could not have been more delighted with our experience. In planning our stay, the General Manager, Abbie was informative and helpful. The rooms were comfortable with good beds, and immaculately clean. The food at both breakfast and in the evening was of a high standard - a comment shared by our whole party of 9. However, the thing that makes this family-run hotel so special was the level of service we received throughout our stay. Without exception, all the staff were charming, helpful, efficient and nothing was too much trouble - they clearly enjoy their jobs and enjoy giving their customers a great experience. A huge thank you to all the staff for making our stay a truly memorable one.

Really good impromptu night away. Staff were outstanding at all functions; friendly, enthusiastic, helpful and very professional. Dinner and the bar was lovely, as was the breakfast. Free parking too. Marking down room; it was very warm, and the shower mat was very slippery. Otherwise great job!
