Canifor Hotel

The service was very good. The bed was uncomfortable, there was no duvet or blanket, they had to bring it in extra. Everything was very uncomfortable. There were only teenagers around, making a lot of noise and making a lot of noise, especially at night, in the hallway. The buffet was small, with a very limited selection, but everything was very tasty. Breakfast was the same every day for seven days. There were no drinks to choose from in the dining room. You couldn't help yourself to dinner; you had to wait in long lines for someone to help you. This really bothered me, but the breakfast was self-serving. I associate this place more with a summer camp than a hotel for adults. The location was okay. I wouldn't stay there again with two adults. It's a good place for children. Room cleaning and towel replacement were okay. No shampoo, etc., only soap. The room met basic needs. I rate this place a 2+ out of 10.

This hotel was looks like something from 80s movie. When we arrived we got room where ac and toilet flush was barley working, pressure in a shower was extremely low. After 2 days magnetic lock on the door stopped working. When i raised this issue i heard that 'someone will come in 10 minutes'. After 30 minutes of waiting i went to reception again. There was new set of employees that never got info of broken lock. We ended up switching room. New one got better ac and hydraulics but not working hair dryer. Apart from that food was bland and elevators run on their own schedule. The only plus is proximity to coast line and bus stop.

The reception staff was rude and not patient with guests. Except for the young boy who is a student and working at the reception, he was nice even though he is being trained. The hotel itself is outdated. The safety box is available for a deposit and a weekly fee which I don’t agree with as this is not advertised. The iron is shared among guests and must be requested at reception. The AC is extremely loud. There is no remote in the hotel room for the tv that is there but it is available for a deposit at reception. Breakfast actually closed at 10am the receptionist abruptly told me as I went for breakfast despite the information sheet given to me upon arrival stating that it closed at 10:30am. The breakfast is below standard with limited options though the staff in the restaurant are nice and very polite. On the weekend the hotel was flooded with students that were making a lot of noise throughout the entire hotel at even 3am, reception didn’t seem to care when multiple guests made complaints as the walls in the rooms are very thin so everything can be heard on the corridor. The reception area also states that there is « quiet  hours » from 10pm to respect other guests but this clearly was not implemented despite many complaints. Towels were also not replaced most days when my room was cleaned. The dirty hand towel and floor mat was taken but a new one was not replaced unless I requested for it. I would recommend searching for another hotel even if you are on a budget as budget friendly hotels can still have good quality and good service. This hotel is definitely not a 4 stars hotel standard despite being advertised as one.
