Canopy by Hilton in Portland exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was modern, welcoming, and refreshingly local. The staff (Wesley) was incredibly friendly and helpful—every interaction felt genuine and warm. My room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed with thoughtful touches that made it feel unique to Portland. Chuck provided me with a list of local recommendations. The location is perfect for exploring the city—close to great restaurants, shops, and downtown sights, but still quiet enough for a relaxing stay. I loved the complimentary bikes and local coffee in the lobby each morning. The rooftop lounge and bar was a standout—amazing views and a great spot to unwind in the evening. If you're visiting Portland and want a hotel that feels upscale yet down-to-earth, Canopy is it. I’ll absolutely stay here again!
Location is on the edge of sketchy. Don't go the wrong direction at night. Reception told me using the valet service was the safest option for the car ($55/night). The room was okay. Concrete floors were a surprise, but got used to them. Bed was very comfortable. No bottled water in room, but have a carafe and filtered water in the hallway. Great idea, although our carafe had something growing on the inside of the bottle. Shower has the tiniest shower head and very little pressure. Bar is good. Didn't try any food, but looked good coming out.
The rooms are cement floors with a green and gray striped rug that looked like it had not been vacuumed in months. shower was old tile that also looked like it had not been cleaned in some time. No shampoo in the dispensers so I told the front desk and they dropped a bottle off, didn't bother to install it. Remind you I'm disabled. There is a small restaurant just 100 steps from the hotel {Italian} it had the best Halibut I have ever eaten. Bartenders were very nice and informative.
