I spent a weekend at the Canopy by Hilton Washington DC Bethesda North and had a great experience. The room was large and spacious- just what you’d expect from a Canopy property. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. The hotel offers valet parking but there’s also self-parking available in the shared garage with the rest of Pike & Rose. That’s something to keep in mind if you’re arriving with a lot of luggage, though it wasn’t an issue for us. While I didn’t get a chance to use the hotel’s fitness center, bar, or restaurant, the location more than made up for it. You’re surrounded by a variety of restaurants and shops, and for a short weekend stay, there’s no need to drive anywhere. It’s a super walkable area. I didn’t check in for the room personally, but checking out was quick and easy. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable spot in the North Bethesda area.

The Canopy hotel truly shines due to its exceptional customer service and prime location. While we unfortunately had to cancel our initial birthday trip due to severe storms, the team handled it wonderfully. KAY was incredibly helpful, efficiently canceling and rebooking our reservation for another day. Upon arrival, the courteous men outside were quick to assist with our bags, and BRI at check-in greeted us with a genuine smile and an upbeat attitude. She patiently answered all our questions, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Though the hallways were noticeably warm during our visit, which was likely exacerbated by the recent unbearably hot temperatures, it didn't take away from our overall positive experience. The hotel's location in the heart of Rockville is fantastic, offering immediate access to shopping, diverse restaurants, and entertainment options, including a drafthouse-style movie theater.

I don’t think I’d stay at this hotel again. The overall experience was just… off. The front desk lady was rude, which set the tone from the start. The on-site restaurant was okay, but the menu was limited, and prices felt high for what you get. One thing that stood out (in a not-so-great way) was the water situation. They don’t provide bottled water—instead, they give you a glass bottle to refill at water stations located on each floor. While I appreciate the effort to reduce plastic waste, it’s definitely not the most convenient setup for guests. There are no microwaves available—not in the rooms or anywhere in the hotel. Each room has a Nespresso machine for coffee and a strange cabinet-style fridge. The room itself felt cramped, with an odd mix of carpet and polished concrete flooring that didn’t really work for me. Also, the toilet flushes with a loud, intense burst—almost like an airplane toilet—which honestly startled me. Not sure if all the rooms are like that, but it was unexpected. Parking is also pricey: $30 for self-parking or $45 for valet. On the plus side, there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. But overall, it was a weird experience, and I probably won’t be coming back.
