Cantley House Hotel

I had the pleasure of enjoying an afternoon tea at Cantley House Hotel (in The Stables restaurant), and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. A special mention must go to our server, Paul, who was attentive, friendly, and truly made the experience even more enjoyable. He ensured our tea was constantly topped up and was always on hand to offer assistance—nothing was too much trouble for him. The food was delicious, with a great selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats that were just perfect. The chefs also prepared a lovely gluten free afternoon tea for one of our party who is coeliac. It was a truly enjoyable and indulgent afternoon, and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Paul, for your exceptional service!

Cantley House provided an incredible wedding for us, as part of a Friday package which included exclusive use of all the hotel and bedrooms. Some other slightly more pristine, but considerably more expensive, venues just didn't fit the vibe for us. If you're lucky enough with the weather to have a ceremony out on the lovely lawn/garden area, followed by a meal in the old converted barn it provides the perfect day, with guests being able to stay over afterwards all in one place. The staff at Cantley were all so flexible and accomodating too.

Yes the rooms are a little tired, but kept very clean and a fresh smell. Unfortunately, the bath had a faucet that was falling apart. The staff were very friendly and it was a quiet, relaxing stay. The bed was comfortable and it was easy to relax into. I will stay again.
