We stayed at this hotel for the second time and were very satisfied this time too. The room is modernly equipped and was very clean. An extra star for the small kitchenette in the room. We'd love to come back.
I am deeply disappointed and disheartened by my experience at this place. We traveled to Palenberg with our entire film crew for the Halloween Horror House festival, but from the very beginning, it was clear that we were not welcome. The woman who appeared to be the owner was shockingly rude to me. While I waited alone in the lobby for my team, she approached with an aggressive and unfriendly attitude, questioning who I was, what I was doing there, who I had arrived with, and which car was mine—all in an unacceptably disrespectful manner. I tried to explain that I was a guest attending the festival as a cast member, but she continued to treat me with suspicion and demanded to know why I was there. Only after one of the organizers arrived to clarify that I was indeed part of the crew did she finally say it was a 'misunderstanding' and walked off. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. The inflexibility of this place made the experience even worse. Several of my teammates arrived late in the evening and were unable to check in, as there is no overnight check-in option and the reception was closed. Despite pre-paying for their rooms, they couldn’t access them, and after a long journey, they had to search for alternative accommodation in the middle of the night. The beds were uncomfortable, and there was no proper hot water, which is entirely unacceptable at this price range. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. The basic standards of hospitality and respect were completely lacking, the staff was rude and unwelcoming, and there were significant issues with essential services. It was a disappointing stay, and we will not be returning.
When asked by Google whether I can recommend this place, the clear answer is: NO! The service is absolutely underground. The emergency number will only be answered when the moon is at its zenith and the Easter Bunny can kill two birds with one stone in the old Swede's house. The house manager doesn't seem to show up often either. This is what happens when you book two nights, one of which is additional, and the next day you leave the room and are no longer allowed in and a new booking has been created. This means you can only check in again from 3 p.m. In other words, as I sit here and write this, I have to wait another two hours for the next check-in while most of my things are in the room. Super! Service and flexibility are not in the vocabulary here. 2nd time and never again!!!!! No matter who reads this, it's really not worth spending the night here - you'll only have problems, worries and heartache.
