Cape Hatteras Motel

Jamie has been exceptional, first off. The rooms are a little dated but again as someone said, you quickly forget it and just enjoy the view. Which you’re literally maybe 50ft if not less away from the water. I can’t get over how enjoyable it is to lay in bed and listen to the waves crash all night. However, the rooms do include a nice size refrigerator. AC in the rooms is very good as well. The area is extremely quiet, except for the occasional seagull scream — which is weirdly enjoyable as well. The bed is super comfortable, along with good running water. We’ve stayed at places that had really hard water (metallic smell) so the water here is very refreshing. Overall, I highly recommend this motel. You will NOT be disappointed.

The location was amazing. We stayed in an ocean front suite and it was perfect! The staff was friendly and helpful but no housekeeping during our stay which was disappointing. There was also an amazing restaurant across the street, Fatty’s! For the most part the rooms were clean, however the couches had gross stains and the floors were slimy; almost like it was sprayed with something but never wiped up. It could definitely be updated, especially for the prices we paid. Not sure we would stay again but not a total bust either as we were there specifically for the ocean.

I think there must have been some staffing issues this weekend. Definitely a case of over promising and woefully underdelivering. Check in was 3 hours delayed. Room was rush cleaned seems like they only had 2 people do the cleaning one of which was front desk/ on site host. Cleanliness is something I do not compromise on. We were beat been on beach all day looking to wash up and go to dinner. We didn’t get into place til after 7 and back from dinner til 10. Got in bed and full of sand!!!! What the heck. Parking is a problem for beach front rooms, no pool, beach is very narrow and short pictures of long Beach in front of hotel is deceiving very small usable area and you have to share with those fishing not ideal if you want to swim. Left at 9a next morning got last 2 night’s refunded and cut long weekend short :( unfortunately I expect more for price point and in what was communicated when I called. Promises of early check in late check out accommodations if needed as I was switching to them from another motel due to being booked out ( Swell great price point clean, thoughtful design and cute. ) One thing that was great was hearing the ocean while I slept and that it had a controllable thermostat!
