Went for lunch on Sunday and even though very quiet we had excellent service and food - Nino knew his wines and very passionate about the estate. Highly recommend
We went for dinner. The location is spectacular, with a big miss being an horrible padel court in between the wine yards and the lighthouse. What a touch of class… The dinner was okeyish. Hit and miss with very long waiting time. The staff is clearly trained to be stiff, pretentious, unwelcoming and never smile. Given the price, definitely not recommended.🤷♂️ just go for an aperitif if you are really keen.
On July 17, we had a family dinner for 11 guests. My son has various food allergies, all of which were carefully—excruciatingly—shared with the restaurant well ahead of his order being placed. We repeated the allergies in both English and Italian. Unfortunately, my son had a serious food allergy reaction, and it’s unclear whether his dish actually included the allergen or whether this was cross-contamination. Whatever it was, it was clearly the restaurant at fault. We ended up in the emergency room, on a remote island, which was not fun. This lack of care by the restaurant and its staff was very disappointing. There was no follow up or help. My hunch is that there was a mix up between the serving staff and the kitchen. I love the restaurant, the setting, but I was let down. I don’t think I will be back. If you are concerned about food allergies, please be careful at Capofaro.
