Recently, I traveled with my Family to the Virgin Islands and decided to give this resort a try. I read reviews and saw that there were good and bad, just as there are anywhere else. Upon arrival, it lived up to the expectations of a gorgeous view, absolutely breathtaking. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was perfect, although it wasn't ready upon arrival and even after the check in time. Which was fine, things happen. After check in, we were told that there was a golf cart that acts as a shuttle to the rooms and to assist with luggage. That was very much not the case. I never received any assistance, nor did we ever get asked of we wanted a ride. Throughout our stay, the shuttle would just drive right past us, never offering service. As far as the upkeep of the room, there's where it leaves a lot to be desired. We were never supplied with the correct number of towels for the number of people in the room, despite several requests during our stay. One time we never even received towels. Throughout the whole stay, which was a week, the room was only swept once. That was only because when we requested towels the supervisor had offered because we mentioned it hadn't been done yet. The only focus seemed to be the trash, nothing else was ever cleaned. The linens were never exchanged, which was a bit irritating because despite our best efforts, sand still ended up in the bed. As far as other amenities are concerned, all the rooms should have some some type of kitchenette. Given the location of this resort, it is quite the drive to seek options for dining, and that is you rented a vehicle. Otherwise, the cost of a taxi is tremendously expensive. The restaurant on site, has plenty of options, but for an extended stay, I believe there needs to be other options available to the guests. This Marriott location could be one of the most absolute best places on the island, along with being one of the most beautiful places hands down. I believe they are just a few tweaks away.

My husband and I went for our honeymoon in February 2025, the first room we stayed in was perfect, we were so impressed. I love the unique design. The property is gorgeous. The problem began when we had a clog in our room in our toilet and we were not able to get anyone on the phone to come and bring us a plunger or help with getting this clog fixed. We had to go several times to the front desk and they did finally move our room. We did find that the staff was very polite to us. Honestly other than the bartender, but I’ll get back to that so they did provide us with a new room but when they did, we felt like we were on a completely different vacation. We were on the first floor so the malnourished cats were hanging around our patio and wanting to get inside. I ended up with a very bad infection of ringworm due to feeling sorry for the cats and petting them. Yes, that was my fault that being said on the other side where we stayed The last part of our stay, the paths were not well lit nor was the outdoor area so it felt very dark, sad and lonely, and actually it did kind of feel like it was a place that has been abandoned, and like there was kind of bad energy there almost like this place used to be great, but it was really rundown in certain areas and kind of abandoned, that was the feeling I got we did rent a car, but we did not leave the resort because we were on our honeymoon so the goal was to relax. We do wish that we would’ve had some kind of entertainment. I saw another review that did say there was lack of entertainment. I agree 100% there was nothing going on. They had a big fire pit, but never lit it. We never saw anything going on like Maybe having s’mores in the evening some live music would’ve been nice or even karaoke like some kind of fun activity would’ve been great. Another problem we had was when they told us we could have a free dinner in the bar because the other restaurant was closed and we were really really hungry because there are not snack options in that place other than that two restaurants there’s really no options to eat, so we ordered burgers and they said they were going be free which we were like OK, great, well we waited hours and hours no one came by to even asked to refresh our drinks or if we were OK if we wanted some bread or crackers because we were very hungry, we were at the beach all day so we ended up kind of having an argument with the bartender. She was extremely rude. She embarrassed me so much in front of everyone and even some of the guest joined in and we’re attacking me verbally and bullying me along with her so we went to the front desk and we did talk to them eventually we got a partial refund when we did get home, And I had ringworm and had to go to the doctor and get some cream that took it away pretty quickly, but the second room was filthy dirty and it was nothing like the beginning of our stay, but we really enjoyed the first room. The views are beautiful. The beach is not very good for swimming there are tons of rocks so just be aware of that if you want to swim, it’s really hard because there’s a lot of rocks in the water That are really hard to walk on and the water was a little rough so that was kind of hard, but we did enjoy the beautiful views and the first few days in the first room which we had a balcony up high, and it was really kind of fun because we were playing music and hanging out, the guy who drove us from The desk to our room was so awesome. He was really super nice. We really enjoyed talking with him overall, I would say if you’re looking for a really laid-back place with mediocre amenities than this is your place if you like to do water sports like scuba diving I’m sure maybe you would enjoy it more. We weren’t into that stuff.

I recently stayed at the Carambola Beach Resort on St. Croix and, while the location is undeniably stunning, my overall experience was disappointing. The beautiful view and proximity to the water are highlights, but they don't make up for the issues I encountered. The resort's staff, particularly those at the front desk, were consistently unwelcoming and seemed disengaged throughout my entire stay. The only exceptions were the friendly breakfast attendant and the bar staff, who were both very pleasant. The rooms themselves felt outdated, and they lacked basic amenities. My coffee maker didn't work, and a microwave was missing. Housekeeping service was minimal; they only made the beds but never fully cleaned the room or replaced the towels. The breakfast was a letdown, especially for the high price of $32 per person. The food quality was mediocre at best and certainly not worth the cost. Beyond the pool and the beach, there was no on-site entertainment or activities offered, making for a very limited and quiet stay. In summary, while the resort has a great location, it falls short on hospitality, room quality, and value for money.
