I stayed at carathotel Düsseldorf City for three nights and really enjoyed it. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and spacious. My room was big and very clean. The location is great too — close to everything. The only things missing were an iron and coffee in the room, but overall it was a great stay!

You’re better off spending a bit extra on the room and having a nice place to stay in the city center. If you plan on going out, you will spend the cost in taxi fares. The rooms are super old and dated. The staff was very kind and helpful. Outside area is nice. Room was clean and great water pressure. AC didn’t work so great. Wouldn’t stay again. It’s was €75 to get there from the train station. We easily spent €150 on cabs and were only in Town for 1 night. Would have much preferred being in the city center.

Not recommended. Pet-friendly only on paper. If you’re traveling with a dog – stay far away from this place. They may claim to be “pet-friendly,” but all it means is: you’re allowed to bring a dog. That’s it. No dog bed. No bowl. No fridge in the room. I had to make a bed for my dog from a blanket. My dog is on a special medical diet and needs warm food. For three days, the female staff kindly helped heat it 2–3 times a day, even at night. But one evening, a bald man working the night shift behind the bar refused rudely, saying he “had no access.” Funny enough, the night before that, someone reheated my dog’s food at 22:30 — well after the kitchen was “closed.” What shocked me most: a random man sitting at the bar interfered in the conversation, told me to shut up, and called me a “luxury girl.” I felt humiliated, unsafe, and completely disrespected — as a paying guest. If your pet needs any special care — or if you just expect basic respect — this hotel is not for you.
