Carillon Beach Resort Inn

Our stay was nice. The place isn't kept in the most immaculate condition, there was lots of rust on the hardware in the bathroom, the room was a little sandy,and other typical beach-related issues. But was overall pleasant and positive. The beds are comfy, the location is great. Pool is 8ft. Restaurant is next to pool, food selection isnt incredible but is good for convenience. Has direct access to the beach and wasn't very crowded for end of July.

Check in took forever, it just didn't make much sense and was extremely inefficient. My TV was messed up, luckily I was able to fix it myself however most people would not have been able to figure it out. My door handle was also hit or miss, I couldn't open it half the time without having to swipe my card 3 or 4 times. They closed the pool about 90 min early, the tub was malfunctioning and was not actually heated at all so it wasn't actually a hot tub. It was supposedly a room with a balcony, however there was not one. The deposit they ask for is kind of high ( obviously I agreed to it so not a negative, but definitely something to think about) It was not all bad however. The view from our window on the second floor was absolutely beautiful. There was a full kitchen (standard fridge and stove) with a table and cabinets, I was very impressed with the kitchen and I also really liked how they separated the shower from the toilet with a door. The pool was great. Easy beach access and I really liked the stretch of beach we were on. The location is very good as far as all that goes.

When I say never in my life... 😅 We checked into our room and pretty hastily went to the beach so we didn't look anything over inside, but when we got back that evening we noticed a blood smear on the patio door, then when my friend inspected her bed she saw BLOOD drops all over the comforter!!! The wall looked like it had some suspicious grossness too... so we went to the front desk (bloody comforter in hand), and the woman there was helpful and patient, but also said maybe someone didn't clean our room??? So I guess maybe they accidentally put people in dirty rooms??? So we switched rooms (at 9:00pm) and when we got to our next room, the door reader wasn't working so we had to stand there and wait for maintenance to come fix it... The whole thing fell off the door the next morning... We were told the manager was about to be on property and would speak with us which never happened, and when the person who booked the room called the front desk all they would say was that we could have a late checkout... The location is great and that's about it. The elevators are slow, smelly, and sketchy. The trash cans were overflowing the whole time we were there. So hey, if you want an unsanitary beachfront hotel, I would highly recommend this one.
