Carlota Sustainable Design Hotel

Lovely hotel, on the pricey side for Quito but the location is perfect for old town. It was safe to walk around to the San Fran square and the main square (lots of police and military presence which I guess was due to the Vice President's residence nearby). The hotel was lovely - we booked the smaller room and there was still enough space to open two large suitcases. Very clean with a little chocolate present waiting for us. It had an internal window and a sky one. Staff was super friendly and obliging and the breakfast was to die for!! Definitely make sure you have enough time for breakfast before you leave 😋

Everything about my stay at Carlota was exceptional. The service was truly impeccable; everyone that worked at the hotel made it abundantly clear that world-class service was their top priority. I even had a chance to have a coffee with the owner Renato, who converted his grandmother's home into the stunning boutique hotel it is today. My room was beautiful, with stunning, high ceilings, open balconies, and plenty of space. The breakfast was also delicious - plus, they served Cabra Negra coffee, a local specialty coffee roaster that sources Ecuadorian coffee, and the quality showed. If I find myself in Quito again, I know where I'll be staying.

This hotel is in the historical area. So nice to walk around and see so much history. Near the newer part of town & was easy to get to. The hotel staff were amazing. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. We had an early morning flight and they packed us a meal to go. That was a nice surprise.
