Carlton Hotel Riviera Cefalu

Perfect hotel for relax. I was very satisfied with the hotel. Rooms were big enough and clean, bed was comfortable. Food was very good but a broader offer of dishes would be great. There was enough silence to relax directly on the beach. Pool was not clean, but I do not care about pool when I am at the sea, right? You also need shoes to get to the sea, there many big rocks on the beach and coast. Parking was big enough and for free. We had breakfast on the roof with amazing view and lunch with dinner twice outside and twice inside. The only complain is about the noise in the bathroom, you really know what are your neighbours doing :D

Overall okay hotel. You really need a car if you want to travel around, as the nearest train station is 3.5km away, and the hotel only offers a paid shuttle to Cefalù, which is about 8km away. Food was okay, nothing special but not terrible either. Staff were nice and friendly. Rooms, specifically the showers, are really overdue for renovation. Aside from that, accommodation was clean and comfortable. There's access to the pebbled beach and a pool. Noteworthy - the bar had a very inconvenient policy of all-inclusive drinks, you can get a free beer, but only about 100-150ml? You'll have to pay 5€ for a large.

In the past, it must have been some kind of club hotel around the 80s. Today, the hotel is far from bringing the four-star standard! In its current state, it deserves a maximum of two. The furnishings are worn, the bathroom shows the most important picture of rust and limescale taps and a shower cubicle. Everything is dirty, the water does not flow in the shower, the bottle is pure grease after the previous guest. To hear every moment of the neighbor's activities, even though I really wouldn't want to do these things. The mirror is a clear stain, it seems to have been deleted, but the wipes are probably also dirty. The rooms must have been renovated to some extent, but only like the theater scenery... A little paint, a picture on the wall, a keyboard on the wall that handles the air conditioning, an LED strip on the wall of the room and a piece of furniture that looked old 20 years ago. The beach is well-endowed, but it is not cleaned, there is no shower on the beach, by the time I found the four micro-sized showers, I just laughed in my agony. It would have been a great experience, but I preferred to skip it, I don't think it has been cleaned for years, even though the water is flowing from the shower. In the corridor, almost without exception, all ceiling panels are broken, stained, painted, moldy or dirty, thanks to this excellent air conditioning system. Otherwise, the breakfast was adequate and abundant. Overall, the location of the place is great, but the hotel classification is not correct. We wanted to spend several days in the area before traveling further in Sicily, but we are sure to look for another hotel.
