Carmelo Resort and Spa

If you're looking for a place to relax, this is a beautiful place to do it. Everything about it is relaxing, from the rooms, to the furniture, to the enormous pool, to the grape vines separating the hotel from the river. The decoration is top notch, food is good, and the bar, lounge, and sauna are all very sleek. There's evena yoga studio with a glass wall facing the river. We were just there for the night but I'm sure we'll go back to spend a weekend. The hotel didn't have many guests in early March, which made it feel especially peaceful and quiet.

Carmelo Resort provided an amazing experience for my family. We spent four days there, and the kids loved horseback riding (Maria was so sweet and attentive with them), cycling through the forest, and playing in the pool. The staff were all available and kind. Our room was spacious, cozy, and comfortable. However, we did feel that the hotel could use some renovations, as there were a few structural issues—such as peeling paint, a bathtub that wasn’t working properly in our room, and an unpleasant odor in the bathroom.

We only ate lunch at the restaurant. The atmosphere was beautiful but the buffet lunch was way overpriced. It would have been passable at a third of the price but I've had taistier takeout meals from the local grocery store. Very disappointing.
