Carnmore Chateau Marlborough

Arrived much earlier than check in allowed on Monday, but the amazing lady at reception was more than helpful to us, storing our bags, and attempting to get our room ready as soon as possible. So friendly! The rooms were modern and tidy and in great condition. The lovely English girl in the restaurant was super friendly and made us feel so welcomed. We enjoyed our meals, drinks and stay. Highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service, location and rooms!

The rooms we had were very comfortable, spacious, clean with a very comfortable bed. The front desk staff, especially the German/British lady (Silke) was very professional, helpful, friendly and polite, who in our opinion, went above and beyond with a couple of requests we asked for to make the stay for our elderly parents even more comfortable. She made the three day stay very pleasant. The dining room staff were also very professional, courteous and friendly. We can't recommend this hotel high enough.

So this is definitely a mixed bag review. The rooms are very nice. Modem, clean and warm. The guy on reception was helpful and offered good advice when I asked about a couple of things. Then we move into the restaurant. This was a very different experience. The servers were vague and disinterested in their jobs. We asked for a drink of lemon lime and bitters. We are convinced it was made with soda water. When asked the waitress said "I don't know. I don't make the drinks" and walked off. Rather than going and finding out. We sent it back saying it was gross and still the light didn't come on in her head that something wasn't right. The meals themselves were nicely presented and tasted good enough. However they were very small portions, not a deal breaker I guess but that customer service was severely lacking.
