Casa das Penhas Douradas Burel Expedition Hotel

I can't speak more highly of this hotel. Specifically the staff Eva (at the front desk) & Luis (in the restaurant). We came here for a bike event and everything was incredible. We actually got engaged in the region the same weekend and for dinner we had an incredible meal. The food was incredible, the service outstanding, and the simple luxury was unbelievable. You truly cannot beat coming here. This is not a typical resort in so many ways - and it is the only place we will return when we come back to the region. They make you feel like you're the only one at the resort, even though you know there's other guests. There is nothing they haven't thought of. What an incredible place full of fantastic staff.

One of my absolutely favorite hotels in Portugal. Divinely located: panoramic views, silent starry nights, hikes in the breathtaking national park. Staff was expertly trained, stylish modern designed hotel, warm pool, and delicious meals. We are grateful!

I just stayed three nights at the hotel and really enjoyed my stay! The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive, food is delicious with lots of vegetarian options, super relaxing massages, great 70s interior design and the hiking guide has a vast knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area! The “living rooms” with a fire place are a great space to hang out and enjoy a book or a drink. Great place to stay with activities for both good and bad weather!
