Casa del Jaguar Beach Hotel

We absolutely loved this hotel, and will definitely be back. The rooms are spacious, smell amazing, and are incredibly clean and comfortable. Just steps from the most gorgeous beach, and also some fun bars and great restaurants. We spent the majority of our time on the beach and in the water, and the service and food right there on location were superior. This place is truly a little hidden gem on this gorgeous island, and we can't wait to return. And I cannot speak highly enough about the staff, and how much they pay attention to every single detail, and their kindness added so much to our overall experience. We especially loved Sonny, our beach-side server from Oceanvs. He was so on top of his game throughout our entire stay, and just overall so kind and pleasant.

Just finishing up a short stay here. Absolutely wonderful! I’ll explain the key things that made it for me: The hotel is small, so not a lot of people crowding in places. At times, I had the whole pool to myself. Also, I am pretty sure they have twice as many beach beds as they do rooms. At 11:00am we had our pick of several- FREE! Including an umbrella of wanted. The hotel is clean, pool is clean, beaches are amazing! Water is perfect (of course that is controlled by the ocean). Being from Northern California, I can very much appreciate warm water for a change. Check-in was a breeze and staff really makes you feel like you are only (at least most important!) guest! Because it is small, not long trips lugging stuff back and forth. Location location location! And fabulous walk score! We actually walked from the ferry with luggage. It was a bit of a hike, probably 20mins with big luggage, but after 6 hours on the plane it was good to be moving. The hotel across the street is a sister hotel. It is cool and shady- mature trees all over and at 2:00 the pool was in the shade. My next visit will be mornings at casa del jaguar for the beach, and afternoons chilling at the one across the street. To end: I was a bit concerned after reading some negative reviews, but also remind myself that some reviews are bought, and intentional to discredit places. I prepared myself for whatever. I am pleased to say this is my number one spot and can’t wait to go back. *** not sure if it is a regular thing, but my very affordable stay included two free drink tickets, one free spa service, and free breakfast for two. I can’t remember what I paid for one night but I know for sure it was less than $300, maybe less than $250. And love the convenience of bracelets for keys.

Location and hotel amenities are superb! Right on the Playa Norte area in an area that is quiet but yet close to the beach clubs. Food is AMAZING! Service at the restaurant and at the beach were always on point. All of their personnel were always eager to help, very kind and professional. One morning as I was coming back from a walk, Eduardo from front desk let me know that the maid had left a $50USD that she had found in my room floor!!! Its rare to find such high quality of service at many hotels these days. This was our second stay and will continue to stay in the near future!
