Wonderful guest house! Idalia and her staff made us feel like family! The breakfast was excellent, room was perfect, great location and we would stay there again. Loved the chocolate cake!
Casa do Adro Hotel Charm is a fine hotel near the town center of Ferreira do Zêzere, close to the churchyard (‘Casa do Adro’ actually means ‘House of the Churchyard’). It’s a new building, resulting from the most successful architectural restoration of an old building. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Friendly manager and staff. Cozy common areas. Pleasant bar and TV room. Outdoor pool with a fine terrace. Common, sheltered, balcony on the first floor with views to the pool. Conventional buffet breakfast, including Continental and English breakfasts. The hotel is pleasant, but lacks when compared to hotels in the same price range. The rooms lack a mini-fridge and safe. In the bathroom, there is no shower handle for older people, and no washbasin kit is provided. The Wi-Fi connection is slow and unstable (download: 5.0-18.0 Mbps; upload: 0.0-0.10 Mbps), which is useless for remote work. During the village festival, the incredibly loud music in the churchyard, every night, vibrates the walls of the hotel and keeps us awake until 3.30 am.
The hotel is not bad at all, but the facilities are very poor, and the management (not the personal) are very deficient. The pool was neglected in the middle of August, with verdigris on the walls and floating "algae". Was kinda uncomfortable to swim there. The cocktail bar is expensive considering the pricing of Portugal's hotels and the breakfast buffet is not proper of a 4 stars hotel. Fortunately the hotel personal is kind and servicial, but there are only 2 people to assist all the hotel's guests, so the waiting times for each request are disproportionate.
