Casal dos Capelinhos Douro

We loved it! Douro valley in general is beautiful and has a lot to offer (beautiful landscape, hiking, wine, or just relaxing). We had an amazing stay and especially enjoyed the great food prepared with much love - together with the good wines :) Unfortunately we only stayed two nights but would like to come back one time.

We arrived later than we expected, but staff was extremely helpful and friendly to welcome us and show us the property near dinner time. They served us a great Porto Tonic cocktail before the amazing dinner cooked right there in their kitchen. We were able to see and chat with the Portuguese ladies preparing our delicious meal. It was the best fish I had this time in Portugal. Pedro, the owner, was also there during dinner and shared some of their history, wine and road recommendations with our group. Everything was perfect to the minimal details. The wine selection was great, every room was beautifully decorated. Breakfast was incredible, with great bread and a delicious homemade yoghurt. We picked cherries right from the trees! The room was spacious and comfortable, wish we would’ve stayed at least 2 nights there.

We stayed at this lovely and charming Quinta for two days with our three kids. The owner, Pedro, welcomed us warmly and told us the story of their family business and wine-making. Good choice of wines & Port wines. The exclusive 40-year-old Port wine is absolutely exceptional. The entire property is beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated. There are lots of nice spots to relax, to play for the kids and to hike through the vineyards. Both the breakfast & the dinner we had were delicious.
