Casavieja

Very nice hotel with character that is a close to the action in downtown San Cristobal de Las Casas, but off the beaten path enough that it is quiet and peaceful. The staff were quite nice and arranged a taxi for me to the airport when I left. The rooms are cozy, but well maintained.

This place is amazing. The rooms are beautiful and the people are fantastic but the restaurant is out of this world. The place was empty and it was late and most of the restaurant had the lights off but they opened the entire place for us and treated us with the utmost class. The upstairs portion is a Spanish restaurant and downstairs was Mexican fare. We went upstairs and it was one of the best experiences in dining and service we have ever had. We will tell everyone that this is a must see when travelling south to Guatemala and beyond. Absolute 5 Stars

This is a nice rustic-themed hotel. The problem is there is no noise suppression between rooms, so you hear talking, doors slamming, you hear people in the courtyard, etc. It is a great location, easy walking distance to the central square. Some of the employees here are really good (I was told that the pay is a misery), and the food is pretty good at their restaurant. If you can somehow sleep, or if noise does not bother your sleep, i think you will like this place.
