I recently stayed at Casino Hotel in Koksijde with my two children, and it was fantastic. The suite we stayed in was a beautiful, large, and clean (Family Garden Suite), which had four bedrooms. Although it was too big for us since half of our family couldn't join due to a medical emergency, we thoroughly enjoyed the spaciousness. The breakfast was abundant and delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, assisting me with everything since I was alone with the kids. The location is also superb, just a 2-minute walk from the beach and the town center. We will definitely return (this time with the whole family)!
Classic hotel with good location. The room is clean. For breakfast is ok, simple, everyday is the same. Abit boring for us because 3 days staying. The price during holiday period is quite expensive 200++ per night for what you get. Tips to staying here, try not to stay on the ground floor because you can hear everything at the lobby and people in/out from the lift.
I'm trying to understand how this hotel can possibly be four-star certified. There is a very unpleasant musty smell in the lobby and hallways which also permeated through to my room as well. I was travelling with work colleagues who had rooms on different floors to mine and all reported the same cloying, pungent smell. The toilet in my room looked like it hadn't seen a bottle of bleach in quite some time. The bathroom floor was also soaked with big puddles on arrival as though someone had just got out of the bath which made it feel like a proper clean hadn't taken place. Towels minimal, old, scratchy and thin. There is a small, dirty fridge but no mini bar. The rooms are large but cold and stark both in terms of lighting and furniture - lots of cheap faux-leather that makes your skin sweat. Walls are paper thin - you can hear every conversation, tv and movement going on in the rooms around you. No double bed but rather two singles pushed together which isn't ideal if travelling as a couple. There's no proper dead bolt or swing bar lock on the door so I didn't feel very secure alone at night. There was no one on the front desk by 9pm. The spa and wellness centre is not actually part of the hotel so customers can't use these facilities unless you prebook and pay - one hour is an absolutely staggering 50 euros (this does not include any kind of treatment). For the price of the stay I was expecting something far more upmarket - clean and fresh-smelling at the very least.
