5/5 – Amazing holiday at Castelsardo Resort Village We just returned from a week at Castelsardo Resort Village, and it was absolutely wonderful, we can’t wait to come back! The location is stunning, with breathtaking views over the bay, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing and charming. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, and the rooms were comfortable and well-cleaned. The animation team did a fantastic job making activities fun for everyone, and the excursions organized through the hotel were a real highlight. Yes, the resort is built on a hillside with stairs, so it’s important to read up on what to expect before you go,but knowing this beforehand makes it part of the charm rather than a surprise. Overall, it was a fantastic holiday with great food, welcoming staff, fun activities, and unforgettable views. Highly recommended!
Cons: -Takes ~15 min to walk to the ”private beach”. The ”beach” itself isn’t outstanding compared to other beaches (see pic), at least the sunbeds are free. - People wake up 7 am to reserve sunbeds at the pool even though it’s not allowed and the pool opens 9 am.. -Castelsardo is far away from everything, not really a tourist place, not many restaurants to choose between and mostly native Italian people who can’t really speak English. Pros: - Provides delivery service of the luggage to your room. - Very good daily cleaning service of the room. The breakfast was ok, not much to choose from, only 2 sort of bread (whereof 1 was not freshly baked but cheap sliced white bread), no fresh juice, müsli or cereal toppings. Pros: freshly fried eggs and fruits. The resort has a big problem with ants. One incident when we arrived at night was that we found our room crawling of ants (see pic). There was no info provided from the hotel that you shouldn’t leave sodas or pastries in the room (which I’ve never had a problem with at other hotels). The night receptionists idea was that WE should spray the ants. 🙃 In the middle of the night, ants that were everywhere including the roof… We managed to get a new room after discussing for some time.
Photo and reality are 2 things. The resort is located on a slope which means that from your room to the restaurant you have to climb 5 stairs 48 steps. Since there is no elevator in the resort. Furthermore, the drinks offered are of poor quality and there is no alcohol-free beer available. The food is reasonable but almost the same every day. Without a car you are forced to stay at the resort. Or you have to take the resort shuttle bus to the village for 15 euros per person.
