Castilla Termal Balneario de Olmedo

A very pleasant and relaxing stay from Sunday to Thursday, well managed thermal pool kept the access good for all, a very good tour of the sauna area was well worth the price and with a very helpful guide. Full body massage was among the best I have had, and was excellent because my wife and I had a tandem massage in the same room. Overall a lovely relaxing, secluded, well run and friendly hotel spa. Highly recommended. Thank you to all the staff.

A cosy place for retired people. For young ones it is really boring and kindo not relaxing. The receptionists are rather inflexible and they were really slow but friendly. In the whole hotel there is everywhere someone who speaks english what makes it really easy to communicate. Room cleaning at 09.00 is a joke. Maybe the stuff just wanted to finish job since there where only 30 other guests during our stay from sunday till tuesday. One has to wear silly swim caps for the pools like 1952 although most of the elder guys had more hair on their backs than me on my head. And one has to make a reservation for pool spots 17.00-19.00 and 19.00-21.00 although as i already said there were only few guests. At least the poolboy/ lifeguard didn’t really care. The breakfast was delicious with many options. The cafeteria is the way to go eat lunch or dinner, but it is pricy. The restaurant is not really worth going to + expensive + small dishes + small choice. In the surrounding there is literally nothing not even a restaurant better than 4.4 Overall it was okay for our purpose but wouldn’t come here for special.

Olmedo might be one of the most boring cities in Spain. It had its height around 500 years ago. Thus, you don't go here for sightseeing. I guess the hotel thought the same; "no one would ever come here". And then, it happened. It was the first time in my life I had to queue up for breakfast. For a hotel with 80(?) rooms. During a stay of 2 days, there was no availability for SPA or treatments. So basically you're stuck in a city with nothing to do for 200+ a night. The staff just goes "yeh, we're fully booked" with a smile. Seemingly the first time, or you'd plan for busy weekends. Such a joke, really.
