Castillo de Curiel

I’ve been traveling for almost 30 years around the globe and this is the neatest place I’ve ever stayed in my entire life! If I didn’t have to return to America for work and family, I would be moving in! If you want a getaway experience and making memories that last a lifetime… This is it! They have a pool on the rooftop that is open 24 seven and you can also eat right on the roof of the castle! The 360° views are absolutely phenomenal with vineyards and farmers working in the fields and valleys below! It is super quiet! We did stargazing last night for a while and had a bottle of wine in the perfect weather! The cost was so reasonable! And this is the first room we had on the trip with a great bathtub. A castle has a very historic feel and at the same time very homey! I would have driven another several hours in order to come specifically here to stay! Fairy tale place. Just GEORGEOUS!!

Sat in a castle on a hilltop this is a memorable and enjoyable place. It's quirky in its very historic decor, the views from the top and our own room were sweeping, the service also responsive, and the restaurant serves evening meals of a good quality, having dined on both nights. Few disadvantages, but it is 10 minutes drive from Peñafiel, which is the only realistic alternative, and our room lacked ideal power points and could be more eco-friendly by avoiding single-use plastics for shower gels etc. Overall a very enjoyable experience,  at the heart of Ribera del Duero's golden mile of vineyards.

Electric car charge cost not mentioned upfront and was charged at unreasonable rate. Otherwise lovely location in a unique locale.
