Castles Motel and Driftwood Motel

Along my 14 day tour of New Zealand, this hotel has been the most impressive to date. The room is extravagant with a very comfortable bed and included in the price is very nice soap, shampoo, lotion, a bottle of milk and cold water carafe in the refrigerator along with a nice kitchen with every utensil imaginable. The staff here are as friendly as can be including the woman who checked me in and provided a map of the area and explaining in detail restaurants and attractions nearby. The grounds and parking are really well laid out, also. A great night's stay, thanks!

A good place to stay, cozy room and tidy beds. Kitchen is well prepared with utensils, can do pretty much home cooking. 5mins walking to a nice beach behind the house, enjoyed a nice sunset

Noisy because of the Bay Dreams young people staying there, plus the road noise morning and night. Happy with King bed. Bedside lights get very hot. No aircon for the summer heat. Room clean and adequate for the 2 nights we needed but not much accom on offer because of the music festival. Rm18 could do with a shower upgrade as only a fixed shower head, door to kitchen scraping on carpet needs attention. We weren't asked if we wanted fresh towels but we would have chosen eco option.
