Catalonia Born

Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Catalonia Born, primarily because of the staff and exceptional service. They truly made me feel warm, welcome, and taken care of. Facilities are clean, turn down service is regular, and the space is well maintained. It is an excellent location only a 25 min walk to the beach, right by the Arc de Triumph, and within walking distance of many attractions and excellent restaurants. I did not get a chance to utilize the pool or other insight amenities, but look forward to that on my next visit.

The rooms are lovely and clean. The staff, from front desk to maids are wonderful and responsive. They are very accommodating when you make a request for an extra towel, blanket, or other requests. I loved the location. It sits in a quieter section of town that is very comfortable for strolls. There are many stores, coffee shops, and restaurants within a block or two of the hotel. There are also multiple attractions within easy walking distance from this hotel. In addition, getting a bus or hopping on the metro to travel further afield is only a block away. We purchased a 72 hour travel card for our stay. The card is good for any mode of public transportation and was well worth the purchase. All in all, I would highly recommend the Hotel Catalonia Born for a lovely stay in Barcelona.

I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for two weeks, splitting my time between late June and mid-July. My first week was fantastic, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The beds were comfortable, the service was great, and the rooms were spotless. Unfortunately, my second stay in a different room was a bit disappointing. I had a frustrating "up your game" moment when I discovered a cockroach and some small bugs in my bathroom. After reporting it, the night staff's response was to hand me a spray bottle and tell me to "spray around yourself." Although I took care of the bugs, I requested the next day that they send someone to handle the issue properly. Regrettably, no one was ever sent to follow up. Even with the bug problem, I still feel positive about the hotel overall. Its location is perfect—quiet and peaceful, making it an ideal base for exploring Barcelona or staying for a week or two for a summer school at places like BSE. The breakfast isn't huge, but it has all the essentials, including fresh food, cereal, meat, cheese, and jelly.
