Cayo Exclusive Resort & Spa

A little late with our review as we stayed at Cayo the beginning of June but the memories are still fresh in our minds. From the moment we arrived we had the most wonderful holiday; the whole team were so welcoming and professional. We were treated to an upgrade, the room was beautifully furnished and enormous, coupled with the private pool and terrace overlooking Spinalonga Island, there was nothing we could fault. We had breakfast included which was lovely, a great selection of hot and cold food and very tasty. Plaka is only a short stroll away with plenty of great places to eat to. We were looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location and that's exactly what we got. Would not hesitate to recommend and we will definitely be back. Thank you to all of the Cayo Team xx

We stayed at Cayo Hotel in Crete for 8 nights as a family of five, booking the Family Retreat Room with a private pool. The room was very spacious, with a separate living room perfect for families. The hotel offers breathtaking views and nice pools with plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. The staff were very friendly, and time just flew by during our stay. The only downside was the limited room service menu, but otherwise it was a perfect stay. While we usually stay at Mandarin Oriental in Costa Navarino and Four Seasons Astir Palace, and this isn’t at quite the same level of service or luxury and of course a fraction of the cost...setting the right expectations will ensure you have a wonderful time here.

We stayed at Cayo Exclusive Resort & Spa in July 2025, and everything about our experience was truly exceptional. The hotel is set in a peaceful area on the east side of Crete, close to the charming villages of Plaka and Elounda. Both villages have cozy cafés and small restaurants where you can enjoy relaxing evenings by the sea. The staff were simply amazing – kind, patient, and always ready to help. They made us feel like part of their family from day one. Cleanliness is another highlight. Every corner of the resort was spotless and fresh, a solid 10/10 for us. Food was fantastic. The resort has five restaurants, including one with a Michelin star. Breakfast was a treat every morning, with plenty of delicious options to choose from. Family-friendly? Absolutely. This is a great place for families, with thoughtful touches that make everyone feel comfortable. Rooms are modern, elegant, and perfectly clean, adding to the luxury feel of the stay. The resort also has its own private beach, and a free shuttle service makes getting there easy. For those who want to explore, they offer electric cars for rent, which we found very convenient. Overall, our stay was wonderful – a perfect mix of relaxation, great food, and warm hospitality. We would definitely come back!
