Outstanding experience! Perfect location in the city centre, parking available in front or their private garage, spacious rooms that were meticulously cleaned daily, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic free daily breakfast buffet, free membership to nearby fitness center. Look forward to visiting La Spezia again and staying at this fantastic hotel!
I wasn't a guest at CDH Hotel La Spezia but I wanted to give a 5-star rating to the friendly gentleman, who was at the reception on 2 May at about 1.30 am. (middle of the night). My wife and I ended up in the lobby with me having a medical emergency and needing a taxi. The gentleman who manned the lobby instantly organized a cab for us and made sure the cab driver new which hospital ER we needed to go to. He was very friendly and helpful at all times even though we weren't guests of the hotel. Grazie mille, your help was very much appreciated. I can only recommend a hotel that employs such great staff.
It was confusing at first. When we neared the hotel, there was an entrance that La Spezia parking on the right. DO NOT TAKE the turn in. The carparks in there are for superb parkers of cars. And we got stuck. My wife had to walk another 200 meters to the hotel that was further up the road and it made no sense to park there when there was free parking right in from of the hotel. My wife met Luca, the front desk reception dude, who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Should you be visiting the 5 towns of Cinque Terre, leave your car at the hotel and fuhgedaboudit. When you leave the hotel from the zero 0 floor, it comes out at the back and when you hit the main artery for shopping, you take the left to the ferry terminal, or the right to the train station is about a mile away. There you can buy a whole day ticket which allow you access to all trails, tours and toilets at the train stations. Very decent hotel, but not cheap. It is clean and the beds are comfy, plus again, it's in the middle of everything, close to good shopping and great restaurants.
