We loved our stay! The service was excellent and housekeeping comes in every day, which is great when you have a family. She was a pleasant woman, with a warm and friendly smile. This place is beautiful and it’s in a great location. Downtown Chicago gives me life! We will definitely stay here, again and again! We were there for a girls basketball tournament, made it to the championship game and came In second place, out of 64 EYCL teams in the nation! My husband is the head coach and I’m his assistant!

Such nice and accommodating Manager and front desk staff. I had a family emergency and they were all so understanding and gave me a full cancellation at the last minute. Super reasonable, kind and empathetic. While I can’t speak to the actual hotel/room experience, the staff are wonderful people and would absolutely try booking again in the future. Thanks again for your help a few weeks ago!!

I stayed at this Hilton a couple summers ago with my husband. The staff then was friendly and accommodating -- in fact they allowed us to keep our bikes in a storage room (which they happily unlocked whenever we needed the bikes) rather than having to take up space in our room. The rooms are clean and a good size for a major city hotel. The beds are comfortable (though not so much the sofa bed). The location is great. So when I needed a place to stay near Northwestern Hospital where my sister was being treated for leukemia, of course I chose this hotel. I was staying with my younger sister and my niece (whose mother was undergoing treatment). At check-in, I was informed that the pool was closed for repair. I was definitely disappointed, as that is an amenity I enjoy, but things happen. Then we were informed that the fitness room was also closed, as access to it is through the pool area. We were told we could use the fitness center of the sister hotel (The Drake) around the corner -- which required that each time we have our front desk call their front desk saying we were coming around to get a key card for the fitness room. I questioned why this was not explicit when making the reservation or sent out as an email, if it was a recent event. I was told that I could cancel my reservation if I was not happy. Of course, we stayed -- not really much of a choice at that point. My niece had not yet joined us, but my sister and I were pretty surprised at the very cold reception we received. No offer of a discount or even much of an apology. Cut to a couple weeks ago when I was in Chicago with my daughter to once again visit my sister. I did not make a reservation until the morning we were checking in. I explicitly asked about the fitness room (at least the pool closure had been added to the website). I was assured the fitness room is open. As we drove up to the hotel, there was scaffolding all across the front. When I got to the desk, I asked what was happening. Construction. What kind of construction? Drilling. Why would that not be on the website, and why would I have not been told when I called that day? This time I did cancel the reservation and stayed at the Omni instead. Apart from the lack of communication about construction and the indifference of the front desk staff, this Hilton would be a top choice.
