Incredibly pleasant stay in a comfortable apartment located on a hillside in a beautiful and friendly village. The staff and management of CGH Résidences & Spas - Les Chalets de Jouvence is very friendly and always willing to help you with advice and support. Even after the visit they act extremely professionally and treat you as a truly valued customer. I recommend this place wholeheartedly!
We would give it 2.5 stars if we could. Pros: access to the slopes was great. Access to the town was really close. Steam room and sauna were really nice. We thought the beds were comfortable. Staff were somewhat friendly but can’t say all that helpful. Cons: the apartment looks like it hasn’t been updated in years! The apartment was lacking any cosiness or character. Really old and creaky furniture. A lot of dust underneath the beds. It’s obvious they don’t clean underneath furniture. The hallways were disgusting. Nobody cleaned the hallways the entire week we were there. Very minimal storage in the apartment. No chest of drawers and only a closet to store everything. The pillows were so flat and you were only given one each. Our sink stopped working during our stay so we weren’t able to use it as all the water would drain out onto the floor (although technician tried to fix it but he came after 7pm when our child was sleeping). The hot tub wasn’t even hot. It was barely warm. The pool was freezing and definitely not heated to the temperature it said it was so wasn’t enjoyable. They charged us €6 per pool towel. Not a deposit either. It was a rental fee which is ridiculous! I don’t agree that this is a 4 star resort. I can’t say we would visit here ever again. The cons definitely outweighed the pros.
Very disappointing and most certainly not ‘4 star’ accommodation. 1. The internet was unusable. Unacceptable in 2025 and made life a misery just trying to do basic tasks like check an email. 2. Kitchen was so small you had to chop food on the hob, and the knives were so blunt they were dangerous. Oh, and you have to clean the kitchen yourself on check out or you lose your security deposit. You also have to strip your own beds… that was a first for us in a 4 star facility. 3. One washing machine and one tumble drier (not working) for the whole complex. You can imagine how that goes with everyone there skiing and going through clothes at a fast rate. 4. The spa is ok, but the gym equipment is a few decades old and partially broken. Steam room and hot tub pointlessly cold/luke warm. 5. Ski boot heaters for whole facility don’t work. 6. Door handles and loo roll holders falling off We tried raising issues with staff who just kept saying “It’s not a hotel”… which is confusing when it literally says “Hoteliere” on the wall outside. They did the minimum possible to help, and then complained about us in French not realising we understood what they were saying. The only saving grace is the location which is great, but that goes nowhere close to compensating for the above. Stay away.
