Chalet Hotel L'Ecrin

Had a great week at Chalet L'Ecrin, service, food and chalet was all brilliant. We stayed in a family room and everyone slept well. Childcare Team is also brilliant, they provide many services to help keep the little ones happy all week and help you take care of them too (kids high tea, movie nights). Location is great too, you can easily walk across the frozen lake to Le Lac in 15 minutes and less than 10 minutes from the ski lifts in Val Claret. Staff all super friendly and helpful. The wifi also works perfectly now, had no issues all week. Would love to return in the future!

Lovely staff. Good location. Beautiful wooden building. Welcoming bar area with big open fire. Food good, but more mass produced when compared to traditional chalet.Pool too cold.

Had a fabulous fortnight in L'Ecrin, so much so that we have booked two weeks again next winter. The staff are some of the niceest and most helpful I've ever come across in a chalet / hotel. Location is good although it's about a 10 minute walk to the main lift, but you can get one of the regular free buses. I'm picky as I like ski in /out, but can't always have what I want. The food was good, although I've had better with other large chalet operators. Sometimes it was good, and at times very variable. My biggest issue, didn't prevent me from enjoying my stay but was frustrating. Sometimes organisation in the restaurant wasn't completly connected (e.g. a number of tables due in at 7:30, but bread not cooked, eggs and boiler at breakfast but no eggcups for first 2 days). Anyway, I will be returning - the happy helpful staff, comfortable rooms and nice venue were more than enough to book again. How I Mark. I may mark differently to some other reviewers, some might see this as harsh, others may see it as fair. But here's how I look at it: 5 star - WOW. I want to go back and look forward to doing so. They delivered everything expected and more. The 'more' is normally about the service or attitude of the staff. 4 star - GOOD. They delivered everything I wanted and a bit more. I recommend them and would go back. 3 star - OK. They delivered what I expected, I would go back if I needed to, although don't currently plan on doing so. 2 star - Not very good. I didn't get what I expected and the service wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. I might get dragged back here, although will always try to avoid it 1 star - RUBBISH. Don't go there, I certainly won't go there again. I didn't get what I wanted, the people were unhelpful and I didn't enjoy it in any way.e
