Chalets Almdorf Haidenberg

Me and my family loved this place. The locations is amazing and the view is breathtaking. You can walk here from Riscone in a couple of hours or you can drive up here. The architecture of the place is amazing, wished I had some pictures. Sorry I was to busy admiring the place. The menu is small but with all the classic from sudtirol cuisine. Very well made. I think there was only 1 vegan option in the mains. This place is also an hotel. I would definitely suggest to stay here if u are planning only a few days(3/4) in this region Recomend 100%

I tend to only go in winter, and it's a wonderful place. The walk up from Stefansdorf in the snow is beautiful (though sadly snow comes later in recent years) - but hard work. Where else to enjoy a platter of meat and cheese, a hearty gerstensuppe (barley soup) and a hot jägertee (rum tea)? The views from here are fantastic, even for South Tyrol, and especially at dusk in winter when lights start coming on. The hosts are very friendly. Once you've had your fill - not too much jägertee! - rent a sledge and hurtle back to the bottom of the mountain.

We only ate at the restaurant. The food was very good, but the service was horrible. The waitress insisted they don't take reservations for lunch, though we had made reservations by phone. She showed us to a table where we waited for 15 minutes after she promised to bring menus and water. Finally one of us went in and asked if they were planning to bring us anything. We ordered, the waitress brought us the food and wished us an enjoyable meal, even though one person didn't receive any of the food she had ordered. One of us went in again and asked if they had forgotten the dish, and she said the kitchen was making it. Obviously they weren't, since the dish arrived when all the other people in the party had almost finished eating. There was no word of apology offered. And the restaurant was not even very busy. Very disappointing.
