One word, “oh wow”. OK, it was two words. I was never good at maths, but I'd come to the right place as this delightful and quirky B&B is based in what was the village school. Inside is a haven for lovers of antiquities and the quirky. Whatever way you look, is a feast for the eyes, fantastically put together by Bridget and Andrew. Beautiful old furniture, quirky ornaments and a fantastic collection of paintings and prints and all this extends into the guest rooms as well. You don't have to look far to see where all the ideas (where all these materials) come from, as in the grounds of this wonderful establishment, is an antique shop also run by Bridget. Our room was a continuation of the rest of the house, with amazing furniture and a very comfy four-poster bed. We were just there for one night, and our wonderful breakfast was served in an expansive conservatory, continuing the theme of the rest of the house. One interesting point came from our stay. Although I loved the decor and the whole quirkiness of the place, my wife is very much a lover of a scaled back minimalist Scandi approach to decor and furnishings, so although she did appreciate this amazing place, it wouldn’t be a choice that she’d happily live with.. Oh yes!! Our tastes certainly are….Chalk and cheese !!
Perfect quiet location, the hosts were excellent, tasty breakfast, our room was perfect and bed very comfy, I would recommend this accommodation
This place is a hidden gem, blending historic charm with cozy comfort. The uniquely decorated room adds a special touch to your stay. Host Andrew is incredibly welcoming and an outstanding breakfast chef. Highly recommended.
