Cant beat this place, ignore all the other negative reviews. In terms of a hostel this is the best hostel you could ask for, clean, great views and even free breakfast. Book through the Hostel's website for ease of booking. The only downside is the walk to the CBD, but it is about 10 minutes. In the summer renting a bike for the week would be a good idea.

Excellent place to stay, free breakfast at any time, free luggage storage as long as you need if you go hiking many days. I strongly recommend.

Extremely Disappointed – Unauthorised Charge and False Accusation I stayed at Chamonix Lodge in April 2025 for 2 nights and prepaid 100% of the booking. After checking out on time and leaving the room in normal condition, I was shocked to discover that the property charged me €50 without my consent or prior notice. Even worse, they later falsely accused me of leaving the room in a terrible state, including claims of vomit, which are completely untrue and feel fabricated just to justify the charge. There was no mention of any cleaning fee during booking or at check-in, and no photos or proof were provided. This is highly unprofessional and dishonest behaviour. It left me feeling scammed and completely disappointed. Guests should not be treated like this. Avoid this place unless you want to risk unexpected charges and false accusations after your stay.
