When I stay at Charley Creek Inn, it gives me a small feel of The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Both historical buildings giving you an gone by Era that fits for today. Beautiful!
Very nice place in out of the way Wabash, IN. The inn is extremely well-kept, and the lounge spaces and decor harken to a simpler time. You can enjoy many things in the area while staying at the inn.
My best friend and I stayed here 2 nights (April 12th and 13th) on the second floor (room 219). When we arrived we waited at the front desk for about 15 minutes before anyone came out to check us in. Our room Was absolutely gorgeous and very clean. There was a huge problem though. NO HOT WATER! When we checked out we told the person at the front desk and she brushed it off as though it was not surprising. She asked what floor we were on and said that if we let the water run for about 15 minutes it would have gotten hot. We had tried that without success. Then she said that if we’d been up on the third or fourth floor then “good luck”. She informed us that the hotel uses very old boilers. I wondered if that was supposed to be an acceptable answer. Anyway, when I pay $234.08 per night for a hotel room I do expect to have hot water. I’m not one to complain but I want other people to know that this might be a problem.
