Chateau Beach Resort Kenting

We stayed here for first time, small family with young child. At first I wasn't sure what to think of the place but as my trip went on I liked it more and more. The location is really perfect right on the beach, the beach is very beautiful and clean. We pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves most days and the pool area also, very nice play area for young kids. I see some comments about the Hotel condition being less than 5 star, in Tw this is considered pretty good condition, I'll say, it's very clean, considering it's on the beach the wear and tear on the property is normal, they still have done a good job maintaining the hotel. The staff are very kind and helpful. The buffet dinner was excellent for price and even had a very good live band, definitely recommend having it if it's available. We went weekdays in March so the guest were very few and some services only available certain days. But this was a good trade off to having such a peaceful stay with hardly anyone around the whole time. We stayed 4 days and it was a perfect amount of time. We opted not for the upgraded sea view since the room was the same size, just better view, however I don't think there are any bad views in the property. I will definitely like to come back in the off-season to relive this experience.

Biggest downside is there is no real swimming in the ocean. You must wear a life vest if you enter the water. Guards actively come and get you out of the water if you attempt to swim in the ocean. The rest of the hotel is nice. Food was decent. Pools are very shallow, none deeper than 1.5m I think

Location is great right off the beach. But the hotel is old. You can see rust and grime in the swimming pools. The outdoor deck is not leveled. Food is not good at all. Ceasar hotel next door is much better.
