It was very interesting and memorable stay. The owner purchased a ruined castle and turned it into a lovely hotel while preserving it. Food quality at dinner and breakfast was good, but especially staffs and waiters were very welcoming and pleasant. Worth staying there and definitely recommend.
I've been to the local town many times in my travels in Slovakia but finally got a chance to see inside this year when I booked a room for my parents to stay as a birthday gift and we were all blown away with how amazing the place is inside. It is really good that the renovation work is happening and the facilities for staying are really good.
what a shame. so much potential. the castle is beautiful and some aspects are great the rooms are nice and the floors and staircase of the hotel is beautiful. the wellness area is excellent. service from the waiter is good and friendly breakfast reminds me of a breakfast in France in the 1990’s of a two star restaurant and not a 4 star restaurant. Drinks are also poor. Food is acceptable the hotel has no place to be. corridors are cold area outside the bar is cold the bar is dingy with terrible music horrible chairs and all could do with a face lift. there is no cost place to sit in the whole hotel there is no lounge area. Not having a shower in 2022… it rests on it laurels of being a castle. Not worth the money. disappointing. could be a gem
