Chettinadu Mansion An Authentic Heritage Palace

We recently stayed at this property and had a wonderful experience. It’s located in a great area, offering both convenience and a local charm. The staff were exceptionally friendly and generous with their hospitality. Though the house is quite old, it is remarkably well-maintained, reflecting great care. The food was authentic and absolutely delicious — dining under the stars was a truly memorable experience. Overall, it was totally worth the price and highly recommended for a unique and locally rooted stay!

From the moment you step into this 100+ year-old palatial home, you are transported to an unforgettable journey into South India’s rich heritage. The hospitality here is just as royal as the setting. Chettinadu Mansion, Kanadukathan was a good place. Their food, designs, and heritage/culture were all showcased neatly. It was located right next to key spots like Chettinad Palace, the temple and others. However, their service was not so good. It was very difficult to book as they were not responding. It took 2 days for them to respond to our call. Their room service was ok. When we tried to call via telephone, nobody answers. Even at night theres no staff to guard. What if someone has an emergency and they don't respond? Bathroom was not the same like what they showed in their website. Excluding all of the downsides, the mansion was really nice and stood out from other hotels. It looks old-fashioned and has millennial-type switchboards. Overall it was an okayish experience.
