We are currently staying at this Chiangmai Phucome Hotel, located on Suthep Road, Chiang Mai, for a training program on climate change mitigation and adaptation hosted by Chiang Mai University, and jointly organized by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and AITC. Our stay extends from yesterday until the end of this month. So far, our experience has been very positive. The hotel’s location is excellent, just a short distance from Chiang Mai University—ideal for those attending academic or professional programs. We are especially grateful to the organizers for choosing this hotel, as it is both convenient and comfortable. The hotel sits right across from Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center, a large mall with a wide variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, and entertainment options. Several 7-Eleven convenience stores are also within walking distance, making it easy to pick up essentials. For those craving a taste of home or trying something new, Everest 8848, a Nepali restaurant just 3 km away, offers delicious and authentic dishes like dal bhat tarkari, momo, chhoila, and more. Another great option is Namaste Nepal, located about 6 km away, also known for its traditional Nepali meals. The natural scenery is another highlight—guests can enjoy views of both the hills and the city, and the canal running along the middle of Suthep Road adds a scenic and peaceful touch to the environment. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. Hotel staff have been courteous, and the service is reliable. We also enjoy the variety offered at the breakfast buffet, with both Thai and Western options available. While the hotel may show a bit of age in its facilities, everything is well-kept and functional. The Wi-Fi is stable, which is important for training participants and long-term guests. Overall, we are enjoying our stay and appreciate the comfort, convenience, and beauty that Chiangmai Phucome Hotel offers. It’s a great base for anyone attending programs at CMU or exploring the nearby area.
Great location! Roughly 10 minutes walk one direction is Chiang Mai University, which means lots of affordable food and things. The other way is Maya Shopping mall. The breakfast is okay. The bed and pillows were great! Firm but soft. Only down side is the thermostat, it’s an older type, not digital so it was hard to adjust/control. So for me it was either too hot or too cold.
Terribly old hotel. It’s like travelling back to 80s. All the room facilities, decoration, lobby and restaurant are like older than my parents. And the bed , the bed sheet and the blanket are so old that the dust is so buried inside that can’t even be cleaned . Some of the lights are not working. The breakfast provided is just like being consumed by a large group of people already while I already go down quite early. The food amount is so few, the food looks so yucky. For the WiFi, it’s so slow and always lost connection. I can only use my own mobile data. Really I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, what’s more, the price is not that low with this standard.
