Chicland hits the sweet spot between style and comfort. The rooms are spacious, well-designed, and equipped with powerful air conditioning—perfect for escaping the tropical heat. We especially loved the layout: a clever separation between the shower and toilet added a touch of luxury and practicality. The big beds were very comfy. The hotel’s rooftop terrace and pool were standout features, offering great views of both the city and the sea. It’s a perfect place to catch your breath or sip a drink while soaking it all in. High tea was a delightful surprise—great value and presented with flair. Staff throughout our stay were consistently friendly and accommodating, and they thoughtfully placed our party of six in three adjacent rooms on the same floor. Breakfast was decent, though a few of the cooked buffet items could use a refresh. Coffee lovers: ask for the espresso machine if you want that extra kick, since the filtered brew is on the milder side. Overall: Chicland offers a beautiful blend of design, comfort, and value.
My partner and my I stayed in this “4 star hotel” for 5 nights (unfortunately as part of our honeymoon) We chose the sea view with a balcony and because of all the “sustainable greenery” covering the facade of the building we didn’t really get much of a view. 2 nights into our stay and we were getting bites, when we slept (possibly bed bugs, given what the marks on our body looked like) we showed the “friendly” staff at the check in desks our bites and and they disregarded our concern and said they would just change the bed sheets. No apology or anything. Even after that, we were still getting bites throughout our stay which made it quite a sleepless stay. The buffet breakfast was very mediocre. For a 4 start hotel it was disappointing and bland. We decided to skip it after day 2. Location of the hotel - we were not aware there is a club on the beach that plays very loud music from 8pm-3am most nights. Might get have been a special event but we weren’t notified of this when we booked or even when we checked in. And it was loud. On the last day we found a dead cockroach in the bathroom, which made us even more concerned about the cleanliness of the room. Upon checking out they didn’t ask how our stay was or even said thank you for staying with them. They obviously didn’t care that we had such a terrible stay. The receptionist just handed us the bill for outstanding service charges and sent us on our way. The whole experience with this hotel kinda ruined our trip. Given we were tired and not feeling well most days.
I’m usually really easy going with hotels, they just need to be clean with acceptable service standards. It was in a good location and had a rooftop pool that had a great view. It also has motorbike parking if you decide to rent one. However, I would not recommend this hotel. Had a terrible experience during our five night stay at this hotel. Service and cleanliness were definitely not a priority for them.
