Chivatara Resort & Spa Bang Tao Beach

I’m adding the review regarding the hotel’s restaurant. It was great. The food was good. We got pizza, carbonara, and some appetizers. The servers were so attentive and polite. They provided the best service possible. The food was quick. The price was similar to other restaurants around which was higher than usual. The hotel was next to the beach and the restaurant setup for you to sit down, relax, enjoy the sunset, and chilling by the pool.

This was a great stay 5 minutes away from the beach. The rooms were big and the amenities were good, only slightly behind our favourite place in terms of value for money. Room service was excellent and food was delicious. The staff did a lot to accommodate us. One staff member in particular, Ei, was the most helpful and kind person in the entire Thailand, thank you so much for going far beyond what was required to help me on the holiday.

We had anticipated a four-star experience at the hotel, but our stay felt more like a three-star experience at best. Our difficulties began at check-in; the staff seemed preoccupied and did not readily assist us and our young children. While the room was clean, we were unable to close the bathroom window, which unfortunately allowed insects to enter. The staff were unhelpful in addressing this issue. Interestingly, we spent a week in Bali with an outdoor shower and experienced no insect bites, yet we were bitten multiple times during a single night at this hotel. Breakfast, advertised as starting at 7 am, lacked attention; fruit and salads were left unattended, attracting flies and birds. Requesting fresh eggs required summoning additional staff. Attention to cleanliness was lacking where the pool and play area did not seem well kept and bed sheets were not changed when we kindly asked as they were covered in sand. Our overall experience was so disappointing that we shortened our planned five-night stay to just two nights and moved to a different four-star hotel. Even then, the staff showed little concern regarding our early departure. I would strongly advise considering other options before booking this hotel, regardless of travel agent recommendations; it does not meet the standards of a four-star establishment.
