One of the best hot spring inns in the area. Their hospitality was excellent. The big hot spring is coed, but the hotel provides a bathing suit. Tattoo is okay. The price includes dinner and breakfast. You will not be disappointed.
The onsen is absolutely brilliant and the Japanese gardens surrounding it are beautiful. Breakfast and dinner are superb as well
Although the location is a bit inaccessible, as the shuttle bus is of fixed timeslot and will stop over another hotel before heading towards this one, the experience here is fantastic. The garden is nicer than some of the paid gardens you can find in Kyoto. The mixed gender onsen is fantastic, really enjoyed it.
