Churchwood Valley

Had a lovely 7 day break with our two dogs. Staff were friendly and kind. Chalet was clean, comfortable with kitchen kitted out with all of the essentials. Regardless of the weather we had plenty of nature to enjoy- the park is in woodland and 15mins walk to a beach and cafe was perfect.

This isn't the place for you if you want the hustle and bustle of a seaside resort. If, though, you want a peaceful stay in a wooded valley with a delightful small beach a short walk down a lane and along a footpath by a stream then give it a try. Although there are a great many cabins in the wood they are cleverly arranged so each one feels quite private. Some of the cabins have steep access points so folk with mobility problems would need advice on which one to book. We've stayed at Churchwood Valley several times and have never been disappointed. The relatively compact size of most units means that you won't have all the amenities in a larger holiday let, but the location is just lovely and comes recommended. Although there is an hourly bus service from Wembury to Plymouth, the stop, near the Odd Wheel pub and the village shop, is quite a walk away so a vehicle is handy. Each cabin has its own parking spot.

Beautiful serene woodland site. Private and secluded cabins. Road access on site is tight, access to site is single track roads from a main road, very typical of rural Devon. Huge beautiful trees and foliage however our cabin has limited views and very little sunshine on the patio area.
