Thanks a lot for everything!🙏For us it was the best Michelin restaurant we have visited. Unlike most restaurants like this, where we mainly remember the food and wine, here the atmosphere is very friendly and with normal manners - without unnecessary pretensions and posturing. Great seasonal dishes (mainly from their own garden), super wine selection and great advices for pairing! Great, we will turn back again for sure!
Stayed there for two beautiful days and definitely were not enough. The village is so charming and the hotel is so well thought of and relaxing. The hotel is the village and the village is the hotel, whenever you see something in red the. It is part of the hotel, beautifully integrated with everything around. I will start with check in, a process that would take not less than 30 minutes. The staff take you all over showing you everything. Restaurants, artwork, rooms, pool...etc. then the room, art, art and nothing but art. The place smelled clean and fresh and so was the case everywhere we went. The village square was the main restaurant. Man, everything is very well thought of, like the smallest details. Needless to mention, the bed was perfect. Food wise, we had the chance to dine at the gastronomic restaurant, two young Belgium chef cook with simplicity. The food was simple and full of mono flavors, something that is worth at least one star. Clean on the plate and joy to taste. Not only we enjoyed the meal but had the pleasure of tAlking to the chefs, what else, it was all about the food. Briefly, go to relax, hospitality, artistic rooms and great food awaits.
What a lovely place. Born from the vision of the owners of the Épicerie some time ago. They have built up a wonderful place, building out from the production of delightful wine to providing a richly diverse set of various eating establishments within the renovated village of Assignan. We ate at the bistro La Petite Table, in the beautiful square amongst the pinks, purples and reds of the charmly renovated and coordinated surroundings. The entrees The house paté- very good indeed. Carpaccio of beef- all ingredients were of very high quality but lacked the zeal of a dressing to make the most of them. Mains- Baby clam linguini with olive oil, as like the Carpaccio a little bland, lacked enough clam liquors and anything to make the most of the delightful Palourdes clams Sea bream - A good plate with an interesting (in a good way) puree of potatoes. Wild Gambas - delicious if a tad salty. Cooked by a wood fire and served with grilled lemon and in a well balanced garlic and parsley butter and rosemary Desert- we only tried their homemade icecream, which were truly delicious. Kids menu of burger and chips was well recieved by all three children, chips were much more like fine chips than fries and were very tastey. Wine- both whites, which were both great, the Chateau Castigno blanc was very very good The place does have a problem with wasps and they really need to get on top of this, hanging wasp traps from the parasols isnt working, it is a problem. Service was charming, attentive. Would have given it 3.5 stars if I could. Its always hard to translate from a one star Michelin to a linked bistro, expectations will and should be high imho... I will be back to try the Thai restuarant when the chef can return from being trapped due to travel restrictions...
