Cinnamon Citadel Kandy

We went for a calm and relaxing stay. The environment and scenic background were truly enchanting. From the very first moment to the last, we were welcomed with warm and friendly service. There were some stains in the room and on certain pieces of furniture, although I didn’t notice them at first. Make sure to take a walk near the river — it gives such refreshing vibes. It was slightly raining on the day we went, and the hotel staff, including the security uncle, kindly offered us shelter and umbrellas since we hadn’t brought any. The food was nice. The chefs and staff were very helpful and caring. However, I wasn’t quite pleased with the à la carte lunch. The most memorable part was relaxing by the pool while listening to music after the dinner buffet .such a romantic vibe.

Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Buffet at Citadel Kandy We had a very pleasant stay at Citadel Kandy on a full board basis. What truly stood out was the food — the buffet at the restaurant was consistently delicious, offering a great variety of Sri Lankan and international dishes. Every meal was well-prepared, fresh, and flavorful, with something to please every palate. The restaurant staff were courteous and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. We especially appreciated the beautiful setting overlooking the river, which added a relaxing atmosphere to every meal. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel surroundings were peaceful — ideal for a quiet getaway in Kandy. Overall, a memorable stay, and we would highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy good food and great hospitality in a scenic location.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Hotel is a bit old and outdated but the service by the staff made up for it. Food was very tasty although the selections were a bit limited. However, when we mentioned this they immediately brought us a dish made separately with one of the items we were missing. They also made sure that it was available for all subsequent meals during our stay. Chef Rizan was one of the many wonderful staff members we met during our stay. Beautiful and convenient location as well.
